I am more than likely going to enter my truck in a small time truck pulling event in a nearby small town next month. They use what looks to be a very hi-tech sled with all the trimmings,(not sure of the weight, looks big and heavy) Im looking for suggestions on how to start out- 1st gear/4-lo, 2nd gear/4-lo, 1st gear/4-hi, ect... You only get to pull one time and thats it, and I really dont want to emberass myself or powerstroke owners across the nation. Also with 36" parnelli jones dirt grips (50% tread /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bleh.gif) what air pressure for the event? Thanks guys, read my sig for truck specs for more accurate suggestions.

Might try sending a pm to Bbunting or House22. They're two of the top pullers here.

50lbs rear around 30 front, low lock first gear let it go to 2nd, be prepaeared to down shift, if sled is light let it go to 3rd

The rest of us are just rookies I guess.

Not rookies, but you have to beat one of us to be the top-guess that leaves Mech2161 as a top puller as well.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Hope to be ready for next season, the boy is going to deadicate his 96 F250 to pulling.

Travel stops and traction bars, Moving the hitch point forward from stock, building a box for the front to make up the difference from the truck stock at 6,280 to the 8,000 class, 230/80 hybread Injectors, fuel and oil delivery, turbo, and a water to air intercooler with an ice box Thinking 4:56 gears with lockes front and rear what do you guys think?
