Truck won’t run or stay running

I’m having a problem with the fuel system I put a new fuel pump in all new return lines and truck may start but shortly dies while idling or driving and hard to start again I have fuel going all the way to the injection pump and the injectors but still has a hard time running or to get running any ideas I’ve tried just about everything and don’t want to dump a ton of money into it when it could be something simple

The mechanical injection pump has a 12v solenoid on top the pump to shut off engine. 12volts applied turns fuel on. Check that you have 12v with at the wire with key on. Place your hand on the injection pump solenoid and have someone turn the key on. You should be able to feel and hear a slight click.

In the injection pump there is a plastic ring on the Governor weight assembly that breaks down over time and causes loss of power and erratic running. There is an updated weight assembly that eliminates this plastic ring. But the pump will have to be rebuilt. Remove the pump with the lines on the pump. take notes.
