Hey guys, how would i get to the bolts that hold the drop brackets under the oil pan, the ones that point down? Are those a real pain to get to, barely looks possible...
Thanks
btw - I have the Tuff Country 6" brackets and they are cracked, thus the need for R&R

You have to use long box end wrench and lay it in there just right. PITA, I think there are 2 manufacturers that have much better all boxed in brackets(rancho and somebody else).

I've said it before, I'll say it again....Tuff Country is JUNK. A wonder nobody's got hurt with that stuff. You get waht you pay for. I had Rancho on the 91, those brackets are STRONG!! And the above advise is correct on the bolts...PITA!

Ya, i do agree with you guys that Tuff Country stuff is pretty pathetic, but it came on the truck, i would like to keep the 6" lift, and i don't think anyone else out there makes a 6"?
Thanks

well, found an answer to my own question, but i thought i'd post, just got off the phone with Superlift, they also make a 6" lift and between the drop brackets there is some kind of brace to help strengthen it...WAHOO!! think i'll be going with it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Anyone have any experience with this product? (maybe a moderator could move this thread to the aftermarket section)

Superlift's good. Good quality stuff, went together well...no real problems..... one thing though....their front leaf springs are a bit thick and over stiff. In retrospect, i would have bought all the parts separately and farmed out for some custom leaf springs with a zillion little leafs in one huge leaf spring pack...much better ride. Also, flip the extra hundred bucks for the dual front shock kit. Worth the money under the weight of the diesel....wish I had.

Joe

P.s....superlift springs take about 2 years to fully sit down to the correct front lift height. They'll bulldog the truck for the first year at least. It'll level out. The harder you hit the trail, the faster.

Thanks for the info Joe, I was going to just purchase the Superlift drop brackets and a guy over there said there is some brace that goes between them, no pics on their site, do you have any?? curious as to how that looks/works
Think i'm going to stay with the Tuff Country springs that are already on the truck

Dan,
The only one that I could ID by sight is the Tuff Country brackets. Rather than a bolt hole for the pivot point it has a verticle slot and an eccentric washer that actually lets you raise or lower the pivot point to adjust the camber angle. Both the brackets and washers can be seen here.

I had that 4" TC lift for almost 5 years with no problems
