My question is that I want to tune my truck but Iam a little hesitant about doing it. Its out of warranty its still on the original turbo (good or bad thing?) puked only once since I had it ( 6 months)I have the full history of it. One injector replaced(about 141,000 miles ago) and 1 HPOP replaced recently( i was told it just happens sometimes). I think my truck has been a good truck considering the horror storys i have heard.All I want is to be a little quicker and have a little smoke...... ok a lot of smoke /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif,and yes i know is not a good image for diesels and ruins reputations of diesels blah blah blah. I live in Texas and most people around rather ask you what you did to your truck rather than complaning you blocked out the sun. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif I want know in your guys experince does this truck sound like it can handle a tune with out blowin it up.Sorry for being long winded and always thanks in advance.Oh yeah it has 161,000 miles on the clock.

Thats all I needed to hear.Iam getting gauges next week. And the tuner not to long after that . now all I need to do is decide which tunes to get, any you recomend.

I don't have an xcal2 but will hopefully by the end of the month. it comes with 3 canned tunes but you can get 3 custom tunes for yourself. just tell whoever you chose what you're looking for and I'm sure they can make it happen. ex: I would look for vane cycling, mixed with an econ tune. that's just me. good luck man.

Well, my truck has 104,000 on it, and I just added a superchip #1704, and I love it. I run it on High Performance all the time, other then when i pull my 39ft. 12,000lb 5th. wheel trailer. Really made a truck out of it. I bought my superchip on ebay for $175.00, and I see that there is another one there now for about $100.00.

I had one on my 7.3 i use to have it made a huge difference. But right now iam looking for a custom tune and i know you cant do to much with the superchips.But thats on heck of a price I remember i paid about 350 for mine.
