Being one of the lucky ones with blown headgaskets & now with the surging that 06E17 has brought me has anyone put a blow off valve on the the 6.0L as insurance against overboost?

No one makes a Blow off valve for the 6.0 I think BD makes one for the 7.3 A blow off require a vaccum to close the valve in which the 6.0 does not provide. Trust me..... I wanted a Blow off a long long time ago. 33psi going out of a blow off valve sounds SICK! You can get a Pop Off Valve which can be set at a certain boost psi that about it.

I was thinking about this and here is what I am going to try.
a electronic one...........
like this. take a voltage reading at the input of the turbo VGT solenoid and find out what it is at you max boost that you want.. like say 30 psi = 10 volts (just making this up for now) then put a revising diode to limit the voltage seen at the turbo to that amount so that no matter what you computer tries to push the turbo to it will only see you max setting. should keep it under 30 ??
I have not put any leads on mine yet, working to many hours at work right now, but a friend who is a I&C tech at work is going to make it for me when I give him the voltage I want stopped.

I see what you're saying but that is what a Pop off Valve does. You set it at a certain Boost PSI and it won't allow any more pressure than what it's set at. A Blow Off Valve expells any boost once throttle is let off. That way under shifting you start with a fresh boosting. The turbo starts fresh. The 7.3 blow off is somewhoe computerized. Didn't read too much into it nor did I care since I don't drive my 7.3 anymore now that it's a work truck. Who knows... maybe one day someone will hook us up. I'll be the first one with one I'll tell you that. I love'd mine on my import cars.
