Called turbo surge. Yes, it's time for an ATS housing.

A ww will help, but may not cure the surging completely.

Yes a ww and ATS housing work fine together if you were to get a ww now and ATS later and still wanted to use the ww.

As far as a full ATS turbo... I doubt that their housing made for the stock turbo would even fit their upgraded turbo(s) but I don't really know much about their turbos. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

You think just a ATS housing would be fine though with a stock turbo?

I am running the ATS housing with a stock turbo and have never had any surging. I can get up to 35# boost with the stock wheel. When I am pulling my 5er, it never surges. I love it. I run a straight pipe 4" and it whistles like it has a WW installed.

Is this WW going on your 1999.5? Doesn't the WW come on the 1999.5 or is it the early 1999? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

The wheel on the early 99s is a wicked wheel. 99.5+ has the different, "stock" wheel.

Thanks, I thought I was wrong on that. Early 99 make sense on the WW though.

[/ QUOTE ] Yes,, it works fine, See here ,, Disregard the SIZE DIFFERENCES OK? That is an Early 99 and later model. If you had a 99.5 sitting where the early 99 is they would be physicly the same size...BOTH inlets from the air filter are the same I am pretty sure with the stock housings, THE DIFFERENCE IS THE INLET hole,, see the "Venturi" in the middle of the ATS? And the slots outside that ring? That is a "PORTED" housing,, it completely cures SURGE! and STALL!
I have the WW and ATS on my 99,,soon to be swapped to the 03. I LOVE IT!
