So I installed my TS-6 chip the other day on my 01 7.3 and now im having pretty bad turbo surge above 10 PSI. Did some searching around and im leaning towords a rebuild and a SPX billet compressor wheel. I kind of just want to know if this would fix my surge problem or should i go all out and get a ported compressor housing also? If the wheel and rebuild should fix it i dont really want to get the ported housing. Oh and it seems like when i get to about 7PSI when WOT it jumps up to like 19PSI very fast and wont surge. It only really surges if im accelerating about half throttle or going up a steep hill.

with the hydra, WW2 and 360* trust bearing kit I never had any surge issue. and push 30 psi easy.

Don't run a knock off wheel.

BD, riffraff, ww2, or Kc turbo wheel

Yes a billet wheel will fix surge and increase performance

yes, that would be a good idea.

I have the WW2 and love it. lots of power and I never had surge problem since the install. I heard good thing on the BD and RR one. won't be surprise if the KC is really good too

Kc wheel is the same as the old riffraff 6/6. Riffraff switched to 4/4 because the 6/6 wheel is loud.

They are all good
