First a quick explanation. I had an o-ring blow out on my HPOP on a trip and it apparently wet my clutch. So before I put in a new clutch I'd like to change out the pedistal o-rings to hopefully prevent a repeat.

My questions surround this maintenance. Specifically to change the wheel or not and a wastegate actuator upgrade, worth it or not? Who from? what other parts are needed besides the pedistal parts?

Changing out orings is a good idea as well as the up-pipe gaskets (donuts) or go to bellowed up- pipes. The ats turbo housing is a good upgrade for surge prevention and flow - I would keep the same wheel and wastegate for now.

def keep the same wheel and go with the ported housing...you're gonne have to take the turbo off to replace the pedestle O-rings so do youself a favor and upgrade the wastegate actuator while it's off so you have easy access to the E-clip. Dieselsite has the turbomaster wastegate actuator which is really nice.

So if I change the wastegate actuator to the Turbomaster Wastgate Actuator will it help with a stock housing or do I need to do them both?

I expect it will help - but you
Will likely get surge so you will be back in there next month adding the housing. The housing would be the priority. I ran the housing and s Nanks Big Head for the longest time before I got my 38R and it is a very solid set up. If you can only do one now, get the ported housing and crank in you actuator rod a turn or two and disconnect the red line for now.
