I checked to see if it had any play in it but all seems fine other than the blades corner ends I took a close up of the blades corners and they do look pretty worn out (ignore the piece of linen left behind from cleaning the blades during inspection).look pretty good at the exception of some blade corner are chip off (look like it)
try to grab the center and move it side to side and up and down see the blades touch the housing.
if it does not touch the housing, have no weird noise and good boost you should be fine for awhile.
i agreeThey look fine to me, some wear, but expected. If they aren't touching the housing then you are good to go, unless you are looking for a reason to upgrade?
Which wheel would I benefit more from on a early 99'Blades don't usually break off unless something comes through the intake and mangles it.
I guessing you have an E99? I would leave it alone unless you want a better comp wheel.
BD, ww2, or riffraff make great billet comp wheels.
Ok, I feel better about the wheel now and not as concerned but it just bugs the crap out of me knowing this condition has to have some type of adverse effect to the overall performance even if it's minor due to wear. For what its worth here is photo of what my turbo wheel on an early 99 looked liked when I bought it with 90k. It has almost 300K on it now and I've never had any problems with it. Still runs strong as the day I got it...in fact, better. Unless you're just wanting to upgrade for the sake of doing it, I'd agree with the others that your ok as it is.
