Getting ready to swap out an early 99 motor with 350,000 miles with a late 99 with 150,000 miles. I'll have both turbos off for the remove/install.
I am told the early 99 turbo wheel wit fit in the late 99 turbo and will kill the surge problem with the late model turbo. Also may give a little more boost. Anyone do this? What results?

I dont recall if the early 99 turbo has the staggered wheel, and if it is and will interchange it will not give you more boost. It does eliminate surge and screams. I didn't notice any power loss with my wheel. Power and acceleration is smoother.

Are you saying I should bolt the early 99 turbo setup on my late 99 before I put in in?

Yes unless your planing Inj's then keep the later and get a 38r..
