I have been towing a lot more since i got my bobcat, and decided today i need to do something with my turbo. Surge isnt to bad, dont like it when getting on to a highway going from 50 to 65. I would love to get the bb, just dont know if i want to spend that kind of money or if it is what i need. my other options are just the ats ported shroud, or it with the banks housing, or ats/banks housing/with the bha. what do you all think is the best route for me at this time? The other mods i want and will try to do are larger CAC and hopefully big oil.

Depending on how much power you're going for...the GTP-38R BB turbo should be plenty. ImElmo is currently using it to run mid 13s in the 1/4...high 12s with a 2 stage NOS setup. The spool up is much better than stock and it's good to 40 psi. Many will say it's a bit pricey compared to other turbos, but all the other turbos constantly compare their products to the Garret GTP-38R BB as a comparison platform. I loved my BB turbo while I had it, but 40 psi wasn't enough boost for my high horsepower goal. Just my .02.

PDP-

I have personally used the BB with good success, and we can get those as well. But recent testing on our Turbonetics replacement netted a 200 degree EGT drop-measured, not hype in a stock injector truck-stock intercooler. It also eliminated surge, spools instantly, and has a one year no questions asked replacement warranty. Did I mention we measured 1:1 boost/drive pressure at 25 PSI?

Others will say buy a van turbo for 400. Good to have choices. I can' say that for three times the price, it performs three times as well.

We also have a package turbo/intercooler combo both marked down as introductory pricing.

well there is another one to think about, for the intercooler would it perform better or worse with upgraded tubes? has it been tested against the other products out there?

I like the sound of this turbonetics turbo and is there a replacement that's equal or a little better than my H2E, and if yes which model number on the black widow site.

If you're just looking to cure surge, go with the ATS ported housing. It will cure your surge and w/ the stock wheel will be plenty powerful. If you want more horsey's, then look at another turbo. Don't fix what ain't broke, is what I was always taught.
If your only concern is surge, then the ATS housing will cure it.
Good luck /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Joe-

We'll have something to release soon....my motor hopefully gets installed tonight, and then I can give you a better answer once I do some testing. We will also have something special on Freddy's truck soon as well (the reason the monster turbos are listed on our site). I don't have something four your application listed on the site yet, but the pricing will be less than 2k for the bolt on kit.

Several options will be available as soon as our T4 flange mounting kit is completed. Here is an example of what I am talking about on a Dodge with a Turbonetics 62mm ceramic ball bearing unit:

I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. I'm a little ways off from getting a new turbo upgrade, but all the new developments coming out are keeping me excited about it.

That is a good idea joe, if BWD is using it there is a good reason and brian is pretty picky about what he runs and sells so just hang in there it will be worth the short wait.

What the BB boys aren't telling you is you'll spend around $1800 for a BB turbo and you may STILL have surge. Spend just $450 for an ATS ported housing and cure your surge. You'll have a happy tow truck.

What's the max boost you can run safely with the ATS ported housing? Garrett's GTP-38R is good for 40 psi.
