Since the turbo is going out on my pickup and could use an upgrade from stock and as per many of your recommendations (plus Brian Bunting has such cool videos of his pickup /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif), I decided to get a Turbonetics with the 0.84 Quick Spool housing (as per BWD's recommendations). She's shipped out two day air so hopefully I'll have her on and making boost by next week! Any suggestions to make the turbo install more successful/easier?

Just hose everything with PB blaster the night before, go for a drive then hit it again... Everything will fall off. Glad to see you went with the right turbo!!!

I think that it would have to include a calculation that takes into effect the altitude as well.. This sounded much smarter in my head.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif

.84 housing is NOT for injectors/big oil

Remove EBV/ and go with a non-ebv pedalstal makes it much easier- in my opion this is the hardest part of the install- I've done 4 turbo swaps

The replacement won't be enough for 530's. Thats the situation I'm in, got the motor almost built and the b-codes will come soon enough, but I won't have enough turbo for them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

However, the .84 works awesome with my stock injetors and Terminator dual hpos

.84 works good up to stage 2's, the the drive pressures get a little high, but the 1.00 housing works good for stage 2's

You will love it!

my brother has an 03 6leaker f250 (the one with a turbo that sounds like a 747) and he LOVES the sound of my turbo /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif He hasn't said it, but I think he is jealous /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif

plus it added some oomph /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif BWD is very helpfull and takes care of business /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Ask Brian at Black Widow, he could tell you everything you want to know about the TN turbos

I'm sure he is reading this thread. Nothing keeping him from answering.

I just told you above... .84 works great up to about stage 2 injectors, at my altitude. The 1.00 housing worked good in my truck, but the spool was a little slow, so I switched to the .84 housing. The Wife is running the TN right now with the 1.00 housing and B code reverse hybrids and its perfect!

Drive pressures with the .84 housing on my truck were 1 to 1 up to about 25 then at 30# boost it was 36-38 drive...

Wifes rig with the bigger sticks and the 1.00 housing its 1 to 1 up to 30-32... then starts climbing from there.

You should read the question again.

Man... You are a hater... You should think about the question again... Thats going to be differant with every truck every set-up... You miss the big point, the DRIVE PRESSURES are what you want to watch... Has 0 to due with HP...

Example, I could throw a set of B codes at a stock GTP38 and make 450hp, but the drive pressures would be 1 to 3 or worse... Throw a TN unit with a .84 housing and they would be more like 1 to 2.3 or so... Not saying eather one would live behind B codes but its a valid example.
