I have an 85 F250 with a 7.3L with ATS turbo. I have been told about turning the pump and want to konw what it will do for me. As in how much power will i gain. I already get bad mileage so i dont care about that but more power is a good thing. Thanks

Exhaust Gas Temperature's...should have a pyrometer to tell you what temps you are getting. It's a good thing to have when turning up the fuel.

Enough to make you /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif!

If you do any heavy hualling, get a Pyro Guage like the others said, If it is just a play truck and it doesnt heavy work at all, you will be okay to turn it up a little, but eventually you want to see what temps you are hitting.

Ohh ok it has a pyro in it but the sender is bad and have not had a chance to replace it. And yeah i tow a 10k trailer often in town which i have to climb some good size hills. Its pretty hot here too. So if i turned the pump my EGT's would be higher? How much can i turn the pump.

For reference, I have a Banks turbo on mine and the fuel doesn't seem to be turned up. I can hit 1150 on the EGT very easily on the flats when pulling my 10,000 pound horse trailer.

I can't remember where the sending unit lies... but I think 1250 is the top temp I'd want to see. I get OFF the throttle at 1200 degrees, which is easily attained on the smallest of inclines with that trailer... I'm talking northern Florida at 70mph on a long, gradual incline that's just barely noticeable.

With out a working pyro you can't tell. Don't turn it up until you have a working pyro. Not even a little.
