Does anyone with a tymar remember what they payed fo it? I am thinking about getting one. I know they are about 115 for the old style but don't know if they are they same for the super duties.
Thanks

The newer style are a few bucks more because you have to purchase a different battery tray, as you lose the factory tray when you remove the airbox. It all comes with the kit. Give Dale a call, he will give you MORE than enough info to help with your decisions.

I talked to Dale a month or so ago and I think it was around 175. Don't quote me on it but I think it is in the ballpark.

Cheaper yet:
Napa 6637 $40
3" long piece of 4" OD exhaust pipe $10
4" hose clamp $7

Remove your air box, trim battery tray with a dremmel tool and tuck filter in where the air box used to be. Zip tie air temperature sensor out of the way. Loosen and turn the rubber "S" hose coming from the CCV about 20% forward and retighten, insert pipe into the air filter and put hose clamp on filter end and tighten. Put other end into the stock rubber hose and tighten down hose clamp. Done. 1/2 hour and less then $60. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Would anyone see any problem of me installing a homeade tymar intake and still using factory exhaust and no tuner yet.

Thanks,

No problem what so ever! I am chipped but still running stock exhaust with the homemade "tymar" type set up.

My truck is a 2002. Would I still need to do some battery tray trimming when installing a homade tymar?

One more question.
Is there any damage that could be done running this type of setup without a wicked wheel?

Highly reccomend you add the Wicked Wheel when you do the Tymar. The open air element will cause surge/stall even more than the closed factory box. (best part is it sounds alot better, too)

I'll be honest with you, my filter restriction guage has never moved in 120,000 miles. I have now purchased a dash mount (2-1/16in round gauge) water column gauge for my new filter restriction gauge. It's supposed to be + or - .01% accurate.

Just move it out of the way, Don't disconnect it.
