I have coolant in my under hood liner from a leak. It seems I will not be able to get it out of there. If I wash it, it will fall apart. I thought about leaving it out in the rain next time we get some, to gently wash it out. I have already replaced it once when it was saturated with diesel from a leak.
Is there something better out there than OEM? I like the noise level deadening and the heat protection. But is there something out there that is maybe more durable?

I used a pressure washer on mine after my tranny cooler broke and puked coolant and ATF on it. It stood up fine. I only replaced with a used one after a serp belt shredded it. Coolant should be easy to wash out with a garden hose.
I'd give it a try. It's probably stouter than you think.

A lot of people use products like dynamat and similar.

Thanks for the input. We have rain in the forecast here this weekend. I will probably take it off. After I replace my radiator that is, I think that is my leak source. I thought about the dynamat also that stuff is expensive but may be worth it for just that application
