am going to attempt to take on this task, can someone give me some part numbers, estimated costs and instructions(preferably visual)? since I will have the valve cover off I plan on changing the glow plugs as well, and will more than likely order on line to save some $$. Please, if the job is difficult and tedious and requires lots of patients, please let me know, so I can know what to expect, because this is not one of my best virtues. Since I dont have alot of money either, I wont be taking it to a shop/dealer. thanks in advance for all your help.

Unless your're seriously mechanically challenged, you should be able to accomplish this repair. It's really pretty simple.

1. Take off parts
2. Replace parts
3. Enjoy your favorite beverage. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Seriously, there isn't much to it. You'll need to remove the things that are in the way of the Valve Covers. The heater hoses and AC lines can stay attached, but you'll need to snake the passenger side VC out from underneath them. The rear bolts on the VCs are a little tight to get to, but not impossible. The VC gaskets can be reused unless you step on it and break it in two. To remove the Glow Plugs, loosen them with a 10mm deep socket, then press a short length of tubing over them to spin them out. If you try with the socket, it will get hung up on the valve rocker.

You're better off going to an International dealer for the UVC harnesses, they'll be about half of what an online Ford dealer will charge, but your choice.

Glow Plug
F4TZ-12A342-BA ~$9
Intl 1820497C2

Wiring Harness, Injectors & glow plugs
F81Z-9D930-AB ~$55
Int’l 1830844C93 ~$25

Hope that helps

thanks for the info, doesnt sound to bad. Will I need any silicone for the gasket, and what are the chances that the gasket will be re usable?, should I buy one just in case? if so, do you have a part #.

Thanks again,

[/ QUOTE ]The gasket body itself is made of a High temp plastic. It has a recessed O-ring type seal on both sides. It can be re-used Indefinately unless it gets damaged somehow.Do not use any sealant.Just make sure it is good and clean on both sides before re-installing.Also when tightening the valvecover bolts back down Dont over do it.You will feel it bottom out.The o ring seal is compressed then.Just a slight snug after that is sufficent.

Oh yeah, klhansen, I forgot to ask you about the part numbers you gave me. The first one is just for glow plug, and the second is for the harness, injectors and glow plugs. Does the second part # come with the glow plugs? or do I need both parts?
What are injectors??? and where do they go???

Thanks
