I'm picking my truck up Monday.

Can anyone tell me how to qualify for upfit rebates if any and how much can I get?

(I do have a licensed carpentry business)

Thanks

You must purchase $1200 worth of add-ons and you will receive $500 cash back from Ford. You will have 1 year to complete the add-ons then receive the check.

It's for commercial customers only.

[*] So the truck must be titled and licensed in the name of the company. It can be in your name only if the name of your company is the same as your name.

[*] And you have to prove you have a commercial business by showing a yellow-pages ad or something similar. A business card or union membership card won't do it.

[*] And only upfits that would normally be needed and used by that business can be part of the $1,200 you spend.

[*] Any upfit that is available as a Ford factory option can't be part of the $1,200 you spend.

The fleet manager at your dealer should have all the details on exactly what you need to qualify for the commercial upfitter's rebate. That rebate changes over time. Last I heard it was $1,000 rebate if you spent $1,200.

Check with the dealer before you count on that $1000. We just purchased an 06 F350 and were only eligible for the $500 reimbursement. The rules have recently changed because of dishonesty at the dealer level. There are restrictions on the $1000 rebate and it has to be a cab and chassis or bed delete with the purchase of a snow plow through the dealer. Good luck!

pstroke is correct. Getting the full $1000 rebate is conditional on several options on the truck as he listed. Most folks will only get the $500 rebate. You can get $300 with out ANY purchase or $500 if you buy $1200 of add-ons. I just showed a copy of my Business license for proof of business and the truck is in my name.

The guidelines are pretty broad as to what qualifies as an add-on. I got a spray in liner, gooseneck hitch, and a roll up tonneau cover. But painted names on the doors, tool boxes, material racks, etc all qualify. Items that Ford can install at factory don't count. i.e No new wheels to replace factory wheels or billet grills.

I'm guessing the rules on the upfit rebate have changed.
When I bought my '03 it was purchased in my name, not the name of the company.
I added a 5th wheel hitch, spray in bedliner, trailer brake controller. None of which are used in my paving business.

They didn't ask for any proof of my business for the rebate. (only because we were doing the paving work at the dealership)

It was $1000 rebate for $1200 spent. Too bad ford doesn't offer the upfit on Harley Superduties
