Hey guys IM thinking of doing a v10 swap into my 1971 ford torino. Right now the car has a 351c with 400hp and 375tq . So i obviously want the v10 to make more power then the 351c. but first i want to see if anyone knew of any major upgrades that would boost up the HP and tq of my v10 over my current 351c. any help would be appreciated thanks Kyle

I don't wanna sound like a jerk but, why the heck would you want to do that?

That 351C has FAR more potential then the V10, FAR more available performance parts and would be FAR cheaper to modify and maintain in that car in the long run.

400/375 is pretty dang decent too, but if you really want more just do a little research and you could cook that motor up to the 500/500 range no problem. Publications like Hot Rod magazine used to do engine builds where they'd pretty much give you a "recipe" for building a specific motor. They'd publish all the brand names and part numbers and all you had to do was get the stuff, follow their build specs and you'd have a monster motor on your hands.

After all that if yer still gonna do the swap, why don't you give me that 351! Heck for a Cleveland motor I might be willing to come get it!

I am willing to come get a 400HP 351 Cleveland!

Seriously though, I would look into just turning up the power on that thing. For one, you don't have to worry about mating the electronic-controlled v10 into your car, and for another, the Cleveland has tons and tons of performance parts in the aftermarket.

If you want to swap the v10 in just because no one else has ever done it, that's cool, but I think you'd come out way ahead with performance mods on that 351.

I agree guys. I just want something different. ive had the Cleveland in the car for about 3 years now. Its a great running engine don't get me wrong and I have tuns of money into it also. the reason for this idea all started with putting a Cummins engine in my superduty. once I take the engine out of the super duty I can't sell it cause they don't go for crap anywhere and I would hate for it to sit around and do nothing. I know I could sell the 351c and get more for that than the v10. If you guys are interested in a 351c I sold one to a buddy of mine with tons of parts and I know he will sell it for a reasonable price, just a guess I would say $650. Also if i do decide to sell it i really don't know what to ask haha you know. just between machining and the cam kit thats already over $1,000, i also have a [censored] load done to the heads hahah sucks when you look back on how much money you drop on things. if you guys want to see what the motor can do check this web site out i have a few videos on here

IM towards the bottom says "By. Kyle Wolski" thanks for the input guys i really appreciate it
