anybody in TX had there 6.4 inspected yet. this being my first diesel, isnt it just the safety inspection or have they started the polution testing on these newer 08 models yet. thanks.

Might depend on where you live. Some of the bigger cities, Houston and Dallas have emission testing, don't know if they are doing diesels yet. Out in the country it is just the same old safety inspection. Hope this helps some :icon_wink:

i live in ft bend county, one county outside of houston tx. i guess it doesnt matter either way, just figured i would check, i am due next month.

It shouldnt matter...I had my 6.0 inspected last week and I have some deleted stuff...didnt say anything...just my window are way too dark. and I had it done in clear lake.

ive got a 6.4 and am missing lots of factory exhaust components and they had no issue inspecting my truck

The correct inspection for Diesel equipped vehicles in counties under the EPA heavy pollution area restriction requires a visual inspection of the DPF and/or catalytic convertors. If a roadside inspection takes place the DPS will look for the DPF/Cat to be in place and if not the inspection station will receive a visit and the owner will get a citation. This has spawned the use of "diesel drag" style spintech straight through mufflers (Flowmaster, Aero, Hushmuff) which strangely enough look almost identical to a DPF/Cat. Hmmmmm???
