Hey guys. I am having a problem where I get a vibration when turning from a stop. It started out that it only happened when turning right but this weekend it started happening either way. I recently changed the fluid in the rear because of this vibration and I didn't see any metal shavings or anything else out of the ordinary. I replaced it with the proper synthetic oil and added a bottle of friction modifier. Does anybody have any ideas on what to look for?

Thanks in advance,

Rick

Vibration where? If its caused by steering i would look at the front end. Check your power steering fluid and also the pump maybe on its way out. Check the ball joints, tie rods etc. Might sound stupid make sure you are not in 4 wheel drive, trying to turn on dry pavement in 4wheel will cause this.....

I think some guys have to add a second bottle of friction modifier. I would add a small amount at a time, then drive. Add a little more, then go drive it untill you find the results you are looking for.

The truck is in 2 wheel drive and the hubs are unlocked. Since it only happens when pulling out from a stop I assumed it was in the rear drivetrain. I feel it in the seat not in the stearing wheel. I will look at the ball joints and tie rods.
I will try adding more friction modifier but what happens if you add too much?
