have yall seen the new volant intake for the 6.0? saw one today and was very inmpressed plus the guy told me there are made bade by afe and alot cheaper. anyone on here tried one?

They use an AFe filter as I understand it...and seem to be well made.

The recent kit's we've sold had the ProGaurd 7 filter. They do have the MAF sensor provision, so the few later 05 trucks with no MAF sensor won't be able to use it.

I am really having a hard time between the volant and the airaid. I think volant is what I want but I have an 05 but I do have a sensor thing in my box so will I be ok?

As long as you have the a MAF sensor and not just a temperature sensor, you will be fine. Both the Volant and Airaid are great intakes.

I Bought a volant it never ran with it on. It sucked the fit is horrible my maf wouldnt even screw in tight to form a seal due to the holes for the screws not being flush. The lid would not seal due to holes not being equal in all 4 corners only 3 would screw down, The side scoop and the battery were fighting for the same space. Don't get me wrong I loved the volant for my f-body, but for my 05 F350 nevermind.
If u still want to try it I sell u mine cheap just part of the side scoop bottom cut so it would fit. Send me a PM.

I had a Volant on my 05. I took it off because I didn't feel comfortable being able to see through the filter. The newer ones may have a ProGaurd 7, but mine surely didn't. For the temp sensor, I simply put a rubber grommet around it, then taped the grommet with foam tape so that it would create a good seal. Then I just pressed it into the MAF hole, and it worked well. For added protection, I duct taped around it, but I still didn't like the filter. If you have an 05, and still want the intake, do what I did with the grommet and all. It definately did make things louder...
