I have a 2004.5 ford f350 with a 6.0.
I brought the truck used .The original owner said it stalls when it gets warm.n So i brought i figured i can work on it on the side.
i have a snap solus scanner. I did a air leak test and found the 3 injectors were leaking. I Had all Eight injectors rebuilt did the dummy plugs, I also changed the EGR cooler. I changed the HPOP and Stc Fitting. While i was there i also changed the front cover and LPOP, New IPR Valve. put everything back together. The truck Started right up and ran. While it was idling. It Died after 10minutes. no restart. The IPR went up to 85%,so the next day I started it up fired right up But when the oil temp gets to 137 the ipr goes to 85% and shuts off. no restart. so i let it cool down and restart it runs fine when cold I pull off the ipc sensor it shuts off.. I restart it and if i stay on the gas it stays running and the ipr is all over the place once i let go off the pedal the ipr goes to 85% and dies. I replaced the FICM and still the same. i noticed if i stay on it the engine temp got to 256 degrees. but when it shut the down the engine temp dropped 30 degrees Weird. what else can i check? Somebody said it could be the pickup tube in the oil pan But I have good Base. Why Is it shutting down at Exactly when the oil reaches 137? No More or Less

First off, stop replacing parts. The LPOP and FICM have nothing to do with this problem. If the LPOP was bad it wouldn't prime the HPO system and the engine would not fire cold or hot. This condition is likewise not symptomatic of a failing FICM. Also, leave the pan on it, please hit whoever thinks this is related to the oil pickup in the head with a tack hammer.

Second, did you replace the standpipes when you did the injectors? What about the nipple cup seals? Did you retest for leaks after the injectors?

Third, have you read the ICP/IPR from startup until it shuts off? I'm curious if the IPR starts normal and suddenly hits 85% for not apparent reason, or if it starts off bad and just gets worse as the oil heats up.

Fourth, have you tried just running it without the ICP plugged in? If you unplug it while the truck is running its going to die; it thinks the engine suddenly lost HPO system pressure. If you unplug it and then start the truck it will switch to an inferred ICP strategy and fire up, and it would be helpful to know if it will still shut off at 137 degrees of EOT, or keep running. Obviously if it keeps running the ICP is bad.

Yeah Im replacing everything Figuring I'm going to keep the truck So Im replacing everything now so I'm not dead on the road with a Big Tow Bill. I have the truck at my Job In the yard going to try unplugging the ipc tonight. Yeah I did the stand pipes also..
The IPR Stays normal at cold start up When it gets warm it starts to go up to 85%.
I did the LPOP because the oil filter wasn't filling up with oil. The front cover was scorn a little. Plus I put a Ford OEM oil filter in and cap. The one that was in there was all twisted up.
Didn't do the nipple cup sleeves.
No leaks when the injectors were reinstalled

What's "normal" IPR reading? 15-20%? What's the ICP doing while this is happening?

Its possible you got a bad IPR out of the box, and I've heard of that, but probably not a Ford one. I think all the duds were either aftermarket or rebuilds.

FYI, the oil filter wasn't filling up because there's a check valve that has to be depressed by the filter. A lot of aftermarket filters don't fully depress it, and you get a long crank as a result. I was getting it after running NAPA filters for years. Went back to OEM and an OEM cap and no more long crank. It was intermittent too, which was even more annoying because you never knew when it would do it.

Mine had a hot start issue when I brought it home. One injector top seal (by nipple seal) was cooked. I changed all of them.

I did all 8 cup seals too, two were brittle, and I had multiple nipples wobbling, I'm sure the brittle seals were a contributing factor.
