Im thinking about putting warn hubs on it Do these just slide in like the old ones or do you have to change something. Thanks

I have not heard great things about the warn hubs for our trucks. I cant quite place where I read about them (or someone talking about them) but any how I hope someone will set it straight.

I drive a 2WD now. Have driven 4WD most of my life, never, ever, have I seen an application that Warn Hubs did not perform at least as good as originals. Usually they will outperform OM, and by a good margin.

No push button hub lock though. So if you even think you will need 4WD, stop, get out and lock your hubs.

On the 96 we had Warn locking hubs were installed after the factory auto 4wd would not engauge in a snow storm after 2 years on a brand new truck. After they were installed never had a problem they worked great for the next eight years we had the truck specially when plowing.

That's why if I ever need to buy a hub, the only thing going in is a Warn. When something happens to one, they are simple to rebuild, and get parts for.

If you are going with Warn get the premium all metal hubs (part #38826) for 1999-2003. The ones sold by Napa (#745-3112) are the standard hubs with the plastic cam. The all-metal ones are just as simple to put in with the above illustraitons.
