Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the engine warranty 100,000 miles or five years?

My 2011 F350 finally gave a P0401 code the other day coming back from fishing. I know it's a EGR flow code, which can be a PITA to fix. The truck only has 68,500 miles on it as I drive my 1996 7.3 most days. I'm considering eventually doing some "weight reduction" modifications, but needless to say, I only want to move forward if it's completely out of warranty. As it's a 2011, I'm thinking it's out of warranty regardless of the mileage.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've been happy with my "weight reduction"

The labor to fix the EGR problem is likely not appreciably different that to fix it ... FOR GOOD.

IDK if you'd have need to be in/around Stephenville Texas, but if you decide that's what you want to do, give Matt Willis a call at Bosque Flat Diesel. You'll have to schedule an appointment ... 3-6 weeks out.

Good luck

My manual for my 15 is 5yr/100,000 but you may be timed out.

You are probably out of warranty on time but the time starts the day the truck is sold. So if it was a left over and got sold after February 2012 there would be some warranty left. That being said the power train warranty does not cover emission control stuff, that would have run out way before the power train did. The emission warranty is confusing and I still don't understand it. I had my truck to 3 different dealers for a recurring exhaust fluid system fault and 2 of the dealers stated the emission warranty had expired after the 3/36 part of the warranty. The 3rd dealer repaired it and stated it was warranty after the truck was over 3 years old.

I know this is an old thread, but I finally decided to give the truck "weight loss" surgery. Dropped it off at Brent's Diesel in Rosenberg and am having an EZ Lynk with GDP tunes installed. I wouldn't mind doing it myself, but time & space constraints are such that I figure I'm better off having it done. Besides, Brent is a helluva mechanic and runs an honest shop.
