I seem to have a hole in my waste gate actuator. Looks like someone had the cover off the GPC and didn't have the battery disconnected and tried to weld their wrench between thtwo. :nono:

I can't tell that this is affecting performance but not sure.
Any ideas or explanation on how the thing works would be great
Thanks

With a hole in it, the wastegate won't work at all. Plus when you build boost you'll be blowing boost pressure out the hole.

Just like LMJD says, with that hole, your losing boost.

As the turbo spools up and creates pressure (boost) it will pressurize the actuator through the hose, with that hole there will be some pressure loss. Since the turbo only creates about 12 PSI max, I would think that a good clean and dab of silcone sealant will fix it.

Okay, i think I've got some 2 part epoxy around spose that would do the trick?

If you get the part very clean it will almost certainly work. The pressure is not very high. If you have JB Weld, use that. Be careful not to use too much since there's moving parts in there. I would come up with a way to rest it repair side down (maybe on a spacer and some waxed paper?) so that none of the epoxy flows into the actuator.
