What do you guys think about water/meth injection? I was at the dunes running on the drag strip and was one of the fastest trucks out there but was hitting 1500 egt consistantly at the end of my run. I was going to get nitrous but am now on the fence between these 2. Give me your opinions and a good kit if you now of any.

Do you tow? If so, Water/Meth would be of more benefit.

I do but it is very rare. I am going for a decent hp gain and a good drop in egts right now. I will eventually run nitrous, probably pretty soon but just though water/meth would be a better choice. That brings another ?. Would you mix nitrous and the meth or would you want to stay away from that. Thanks.

I dunno about mixing, however running a 50% meth mix snowperformance claims 75HP. I dunno if I would run that much meth, however to each his own. I wouldn't go much above 25% myself, but this will def. keep your egt's down. Some report over 250* in egt drops. Also you might think about an intercooler. I have heard very impressive decreases in egts and a solid 30 hp or so.

People mix it, I personally wouldn't want to, unless it was an all out race truck.

I have the Snow kit and use a 8 gallon tank in the tool box. System works ok for towing, I WOULD NOT RISK ruining my motor for a few extra horses by running a high meathanol mix, I run a 1 to 1 ratio ( 1 gallon of washer fluid to 1 gallon of water) it does cool the truck down, but the problem is it really is only effective on long grades, short (read) drag applications would not be beneficial to you. I am into my system about $1000.00 and unless you tow a lot look elsewhere. just my 2 cents..

I disagree man. I have heard of a good HP increases from water meth. I would think that 30% would add somewhere of 40RWHP and more importantly keep egt's in check. I can't remember, but isn't that the posters original intent?

On edit. If you want alot more power add nitrous. I am not totally sure what is will do to EGT's

if you want a small power increase and to keep your egt's in check I would go snowperformance water meth.

My advise spend some of that hard earned money and go with a new cac then think about the diferent sprays out thier, by the way Nos will defenantly raise your temps and then your back to square one.

Nitrous will drastically drop EGT's in a race.
Do some research before you post.

My no-nitrous passes will hit 17-1800 degrees. My nitrous passes struggle to break 1400.

Maybe instead of a intercooler or water meth you should look into DJ's wet kit. Then you would really be rocking some people at the dunes. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif
