going to be replacing water pump this weekend. heard it was a pain..any write-ups or advice would be greatly appreciated! tia

I swapped mine out last week.
Went to NAPA for the pump for the lifetime guarantee.
My other truck I have had since '78 so yeah, those guarantees, carefully filed are of value.

Before you start, get a super heavy-duty chain strap wrench that will clamp a shaft larger than 6" you'll need that.

Just replaced mine last week, once the fan is out of the way it was very easy. There is a ton of room. Radiator is only held in by 5 bolts, gives you even more room. A lot easier then I expected.

Might just as well install a coolant filter, 203° Thermostat and a Billet Aluminum Therm. Housing while you have everything apart.

This is a very good mod to do during the water pump fix. I would also recommend the rap-around the serpintine belt hose swap and the coolant filter at the same time. None are very spendy but are very very handy.
