Have a slow leak of coolant from the bottom bolt of what I assume is the water pump. Where the large radiator hose enters the engine housing. Is this a pretty sure water pump replacement or might it just be a gasket leak. If so, what is the torque for that bolt. Don't want to create bigger problems. I'm laving for the summer in a few days so need to get it taken care of. Thanks, Bill

Well, I put a wrench to it. didn,t feel any tightening, but who knows. Wiped it down and put about 80 miles on it. Will check it again in the morning when it is cooled down. I can't see any leakage where the weep hole is said to be. Definite drops from the bolt to the large hose were visible earlier today. Strange. Bill

Bill,
If you are talking about the long lower bolt by the elbow, I had a leak coming from there after installing a new pump. At first I thought the gasket did not set right, I ended up changing three gaskets before I was
told to try another pump. The new pump did not leak, so I concluded that the other had a deffect in it when it was cast. Hope this helps.

Thanks Twim. This is the oem pump. How odd that it would start leaking at a bolt that had not been touched in the 75k it has been driven. There was no sign of coolant at the bolt this AM. Being a bit paranoid but I'm leaving for the Colorado wilderness in a few days. Far from a shop. Bill
