All the way up there should be a 'click' which is the switch for the dome light. Just shy of the 'click' is dash light full.
I'll have to check that out. Does this turn the dome and cargo lights on? Because not only did my dome light stay on, the cargo and red door lights on the bottom of the doors were on also.

Yeah that is what I must have done was turn the intensity knob until the dome light came on and I didn't realize I had done that. I checked the knob and it does work like you said.

Thanks,

Griz

My door ajar light and the dome light stay on whenever the key is on. 2003 F250 Super Duty Supercab 6.0 diesel. I have disconnected both door switches without success. Does my truck have a GEM, a VSM or an LCM that controls this function? Whichever one it is, where is it? Lots of misinformation out there on this issue from people who think they know but get contradicted by others who also think they know. Anyone know for certain?

Thanks

Try jumping the plug on each door switch. Just pulling the plug off the switch doesn't do it.

I have a Crew Cab now, how would one determine what door is the problem???
My interior lights will not go out and my door ajar light stays on.
I've used up my quota of WD-40 in all 4 doors. If I can't get this fixed tonight, I'm gonna have to unhook my batteries, MUCH easier than pulling a VERY hot bulb.

Thanks all!
RoReRi

Found the problem... FYI...
The interior and bed lights finally timed out.
Opened each door and then let the lights time out again, takes about 5 minutes, but seems like 30.
After the two back doors I tried the drivers door.
Culprit was the drivers door. When I opened the drivers door the lights did NOT come back on.
Maybe this trouble shooting method may help someone.

Thanks all!!!
The test procedure described by RoReRi worked perfectly and I easily determined that the driver's door switch was the problem. Just remove the ignition key and shut the doors without locking. The door which does NOT light the dome light after the time out is the culprit switch.

Follow up to what I just posted: For the time being I removed the plug to the switch and shorted the two connector pins with a paper clip. The dome light now turns on/off properly from the other 3 doors.
