Good job ford engineers on that one, total turn around. I remember the late 80s F150 was rated as one of the most dangerous vehicles in frontal crashes.
These overlap tests are good real life simulations. These tests have always ended in pressure for the manufactures to make their vehicles safer.
Princess is in the body shop and I'm in a Ram 1500 crew cab short bed, so bummer on that. Suspension feels like a cheap car suspension not heavy enough for that truck on even slightly bumpy Rds. Dash creeks as well as in addition to squeaking in the seats. Reasonably sure I can feel the seat flexing the floor the seat is bolted to. FYI I weigh 175lbs. This rental has 7k miles.
Front rims have grease getting spit on them.
Middle of nowhere sandwich shop, I come out and no crank, lights including trans lights flashing. Removed key a bunch of times and it fired.
Looked at control arm and Crown Vic's are bigger.
Does not feel like a truck on a country rd. but a big car with a small car suspension under it.
Feels, sounds, rides like a cheap tinny truck and as we see from above crashes in overlap crash tests like one. That accident results on that Ram will most likely will have you bleeding internally and or externally to death before help gets to you and the Jaws of Life get you out.
Good cab protection ford, congrats.
Tip: before entering blind turns, beep your horn. Blind turns are hotspots for overlap crashes.
