I've just gone from a 99 with the 7.3 to an '03 with the 6.0. Had the Hypertech programmer in the 99 and was pleased with it. Is this still a good way to go or is there something out there that's far and away better for the money. Not interested in speed as much as I am power for pulling and fuel economy. Thanks for your input.

I own the following modules and programmers and here are my thoughts on them.
1. Sct with the extreme programs from id.(power is not linear and comes on abruptly, half throttle is the same as full throttle engine is more noisey when driving, truck sounds like it is going to blow up on cold starts.)

2. edge platinum (good power but shifts like crap)

3. regular edge with attitude.(Same as above)

So for the hell of it I bought the hypertech today and installed it and what I found was that the truck runs silky smooth (way quieter than stock at idle and driving)shifts perfect and has very good power, not quite as strong as the edge or sct but it is way more useable and smoother. The egt remain low even when towing my 10,000 lb trailer on stage 3.I am selling the others that I listed above and keeping the hypertech.

Do you have a stock transmission? what other things do you have done to your truck? i recently purchased the Hypertech Stage III and now im getting rid of it cause im looking for more HP from a Programmer. but if not, i'd keep it with me, im very pleased with the Hypertech as well.
