What all do I need to get into the 14's? I know each truck is different, but mine seems stronger than other 7.3s i've driven. Ive got intake and exhaust so far...so basically stock. I've been told with a hot chip and intake/exhaust its possible to hit 14.9's, that true?

Thanks for any input.

My numbers come from my Edge Evo Programmer, not from the dragstrip, so take them for what your will. Given the "lower level" of mods I have ( the Edge Evo is not even on Extreme) they seem pretty strong. I think the key is both a nice, easily broken in motor before mods and the stock tire and wheel size (see sig).

I cant wait until 104k when the warranty expire so I can put a chip (tiption), a WW,etc and see what she'll really do!!!!!

Given that our trucks are almost identical in size and weight (mine weighed in a 6,290 with a 1/4 tank) you should be able to get into the 14.9 range with an Edge Evolution programmer along with your intake and exhaust. I've only done about 3 - 1/4 mile runs and 15.14 is my best so far, and that was with a mediocre launch and the Evo set on the middle level. I've heard that tire size can affect performance quite a bit, the more mass to rotate, the slower the acceleration. I am running stock size tires on factory aluminum wheels. If you dont have any warranty issues (mine runs out at 104k) then maybe a flip chip is the your answer. If you still have a warranty, then the Edge Evo is tough to beat for performance and drivability.

Good luck with your decision.

I prolly could be in the 14s if I got a true piggyback tuner, custom programming. wish i had done that in the first place. I here good things about jodys stuff on here. Also being a 4x4 adds time to my time.

if you had custom tuning there would be no need for stacking other crap with your chip. 4x4 should help your 1/4 times out, why do you think we all launch and run in 4x4?
