So I saw this next to my fuel filter mounting bracket. It's melted up pretty good, but as far as I know its working still. I have no clue what it is or what it does, its part of the glow plug wiring harness. and ideas would be great
Thanks

It looks vaguely like a FP or PFE, but I don't think a '92 diesel had either. Clean or expose the wiring enough to get the wire colors, and ID it by them using this site:

I've seen that, and knew it was part of the GP system, but I never knew its function. It never caused a problem that I knew of, so I never bothered trying to find out.

That connector is for when you would pull the engine so you wouldn't have to cut or disconnect all that wiring. The reason most of the time is that the two wires that feed power to the GP relay get over heated due to corroded pins in the connector and melts the plastic body.

Wires in the connector.

Battery power to Glow Plug relay.(two wires)

Battery power to key switch.

Key switch power to fuel filter heater.

Key switch trigger power to starter relay.

Grounding to WIF light.

Fuel filter vacuum switch. (Plugged filter)
