My buddy and I are having a debate.. We both have the same truck '03 6.0 w/torqueshift. we also both have travel trailers about the same size and weight (around 7k). He seems to think you should tow in 3rd w/the tow/haul engaged. And of course I don't think so... I have always towed in drive w/tow/haul engaged...

It just seems to me if you were to tow in 3rd you would be up over 3000rpm on the highway constantly?? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Please help me settle this..

First, does he know how to read? Maybe he should read the owner's manual, or have someone read it to him.

If he puts the shifter in 3, that's the only gear he will have. It will start in 3rd gear and stay in 3rd gear. It doesn't matter if tow/haul is on or off, 3 is 3rd gear, period.
