That little black hose that sticks up in front of the coolant expansion/recovery/reservoir bottle. It sticks up there with a 90 degree open adapter on the end of it. Looks like something that somebody forgot to hook up but I cannot see where it may have come loose from. Any ideas, reason for it's existence?
BTW just turned 1,000 miles this morning, holding steady at almost 13mpg on the highway at 60mph. Stopping by Wally World on the way home to pick up four gallons of Rotella CJ-4 and a Fram Filter for the truck's first oil change and water drain. I am so childish, I am actually looking forward to crawling under there and getting dirty. Will need a new cartridge for the grease gun, the 450 has at least a dozen zercs to service.
Love this truck more each day

Could you post a pic of the little hose? I suspect it's the "puke tube" for any overflow (via venting of the pressure cap) out of the degas bottle, but I'm not 100% on that.

Remember puke tubes from the days before coolant recovery systems?

Greg, should the vacumn line be capped off. I haven't felt to see if it is producing vacumn while the engine is running, but it does look odd sticking straight up there. Thanks for the information.
