I am in the process of upgrading the suspension on my 2001 Excursion. I went to the salvage yard and had them pull the springs off of a 2001 7.3 F250. The computer at the yard listed the springs as v-codes and b-codes. The fronts are aftermarket "v-code" springs from Stanley Springs, part number 43-818. The rears are ford OEM, however the part number on them is 1C34-5560-GA. The sticker on the door of the truck is un-readable. Does anyone know what the code is for these springs and their load rating?

Thanks,

Pete

Part numbers change, but if they said they show them as V and B, is there a reason you doubt them? The rears would be the least likely to be wrong too. Front's could be U or V easily, but them being aftermarket springs, there's no telling. If they're made to the spec of V code, then you may be fine if that's what you're looking for. Assuming you're getting them for cheap. New ones fro Ford aren't that bad.

I went to the Ford dealer yesterday and all the parts guy could tell me was that the rear leaf springs came off of a F350 between 2001 and 2003.

I was looking to do the B-code mod, but these springs have ten leafs plus a small overload leaf on the bottom. They do not look anything like a B-code spring. I guess I will have to install them and see how the ride is.

All I have to do now is order some shocks and a track bar!
