I was wondering what is the little motor located on the drivers side to the right of the brake booster. This thing makes a weird vibrating sound and has a air valve on it. Thanks

Sorry no pictures, As you're looking at the brake booster it is to the right on top of the wheel well, it rattles and has a breather on it. I was thinking something electronic. I sow ∆¶∆ confused.

Is it sitting on the top of the Fuse panel cover?

If so, it is a Vaccuum Pump.

Are your other Power Strokes 2008 to 2010 model years?

I don't own a 6.4 anymore to check. I have a 6.7L now.

My guess from memory is that it is a vaccum pump and it runs oppsite to a air compressor so when it is running it will seem that it is leaking air, but that is normal. This vacuum pump runs that 4x4 hubs and HVAC blending doors, etc..... I do remember it being noisy on my 2008. It should start up when you first turn the key on.

For what it is worth the 2011 to present don't use that pump, it is mechanically driven.
