I've been looking for a newer 7.3 in good working condition with little rust, in Minnesota it's hard to find. So if I can't find one, what do I buy? 6.4 or a 6.7? I don't want to spend more then 28k.
If you're looking at a 7.3 and really can't find one, i would of keep looking ? but if if you really can't find one you want and stat looking at other diesel, I would go with with the 6.0. If you really don't want a 6.0 well go 6.4 and 6.7 last.
6.0 has a lot of problems. I don't trust them. I don't want to have to bulletproof it. Lot of money and down time. I was hoping 6.4 or the 6.7 are more reliable. But reading some old topics. People are saying they are just as bad as the original 6.0
6.0 are really good truck and can be realable when bulletproofed. 6.4 are twice as more money when they break. And 6.7 are hit and miss... May be ok maybe not...
If you buy a 6.0 and bulletproof it, it still ganna be cheaper than a 6.4.
I don't know enough about bulletproofing to do it myself or have the time to do it.... Or the equipment to do it. And how does one really know when it's totally "bulletproofed" I've been told that is hit and miss also.
I tow every now and again for work/play I want the 7.3 because it's so reliable. My father has had his for 17 years and it still going strong, best vehicle in the family and most trust worthy.
