With a little bit of rubbing u can fit a 35" tire on an 8 inch rim. As for the tire, if u drive it more on the street and not trail ride alot then go with the BFG All Terrian T/A. If u want something a little more serious i'd look at Nitto Mud Grappler or Toyo Open Country M/T.

I just put the Nitto Mud Grapplers on my truck. Their a great looking tire and the ride isnt bad at all all for the exception you get a nice hum. They work awesome in the snow, I tested them out in the snow storm im getting right now in northern jersey.

The super swamper trxus MT is a great tire for mud and snow. With that said if you plan on driving on the road they will wear quickly.

got the toyo open country m/t on mine. not quite sure how i feel about reccommending them though... great tire but they wear a little fast. i hav about 15,000 mi on them and hav had them for about a year. Tread has worn down about 50% but it seems to be tapering off a little. first set of mud tires so i dont know how fast they are supposed to wear. i was actually out mudding a few hours ago and was holding in better than my two buddies who had all terrains even with my tire wear.

Lots of choices available. The BFG Mud Terrain, excellent tire with good wear. Toyo M/T, excellent tire, wears a little quick and has a little heavier carcass but VERY good overall. Cooper SST, great MADE IN USA tire, works well on a daily driver, All the Interco tires(makers of Swampers, boggers, Truxxux etc. Great mud tires, noisy on the road, great mud tires, noisy on the road, oops said that already.....Some wear rather fast.

Look around and do some shopping, all of these will serve your purpose.

And get ready to say goodbye to them in about 20K. Those things wear like chit.

X 2 for the BFG ATs. Great tire, and tons of sizes available. Pretty cheap too.

I really dont really drive the truck alot. I have a beater car i drive to school then i just drive the truck to work on the other side of town and then on the weekends with the girlfriend so they will probaly last longer then 20,000.

If you truly want a "mid" tire, you don't want a BFG AT - they will pack with mud as soon as they see mud. If you want a good AT, they are - not a good MT.

A real mud tire will be noisy on the street, and likely will wear fast. Interco Boggers are probably the best "mud-only" tire. If you want to do more than mud you can choose between more aggressive MTs to more tame ATs.
