Sitting here having my morning coffee and had a question. Is a Platinum worth the extra cost at trade-in?

What would 2 almost identical trucks be worth that were say..........F350 LB SW for example.

One truck was a loaded out Platinum and the other truck was a loaded out Lariat with the same options as possible.

The Platinum is if I remember $1200ish more and it's upgraded seats, steering wheel and badging.

Does that make the truck worth more than the $1200 at trade than the same Lariat?

Go to NADA or Kelly Blue Book and compare a few different years such as 2014 or 2013 with each of the packages being same eecept Lariat vs Platinum

The high end of the scale is about $1,600 difference between a loaded Lariat with just about every option and a loaded Platinum. I didn't look it up but I'd expect to get about 50% of the difference back between the two. You lose depreciation so you will not get back the full amount but frankly I don't care about the minimal $800 or so difference from selling because I bought it due to it being more comfortable, not because it is a "Platinum". That in itself is well worth it to me after long camping trips and long plowing days.

As silly as it sounds to some.. there is nothing like getting into a cold truck and grabbing the steering wheel and having it be ohhhh so warm.

Yes you would get more. Platinum is considered a higher trim level. It would not equal the same a as a lariat or else the "platinum" would not be a thing. Just as a XLT would get more at trade in than an identical XL truck.
