Hi this is my first post. I just recently bought a 99 F-250 supercab longbed 7.3 PSD 85000 miles. My Question is how big can I go with wheels and tires and not have rubbing problems? I have 265/75/16 right now. I like to see a little bit fo the tires sticking out from the wheel wells. I do tow a 30 foot fifth wheel with this truck also. Don't know if that makes any difference or not. I did do a search and read alot but never really got clear answer. Thanks for any help Butch

I have the same question, from what I heard 285/75/16 will work on a f250 p/s 4x2, (not 4x4). In a few weeks I will know for sure as I am trying a set. When I get a set on I will post what I find out.

If anyone knows for sure I would like to know. Does anyone have 285/75/16 on a p/s 4x2?

You said, only a slight rub when I turn sharp. Looks like you have a 4x4.

Does the 4x4 set up higher than the 2x4? If so would the same tires on a 2x4 rub more using the same 285/75/16 that you have on the 4x4?

Just wondering bc I was wanting to put 285/75/16 on my 2x4 truck.

Thanks for the help,

I have 315/75R16 on stock lift/wheels. It rubbed a little but nothing too bad. It has stopped at this point. It would only rub on the skirt when turning left, right was fine. N
o contact with leaf springs or anything else. I will buy them again.

The rears are 100% fine of course.

I have been running 285/70 16 on stock rims, then i added 4" Fabtech
lift to my 2wd, now tires look to small so i just received 10X16
Procomp wheels and going to install 305's tomorrow if they will fit.
will update, but 285's fit fine on stock 2wd.

I am running 315's on mine, stock 99 4x4, but they rub the springs at full turn. Next time I buy tires I would like to get a smaller size, but I don't want to lose too much of the width of the tire and the ride height. I am going to try to go to a 305 or something like that and see how that works.

Installed my new Procomp 16x10 wheels with Bridgstone Dueller A/T 305's and they look great. I was leary about going with 10" wheels but now i'am glad i did. I have ATS fender flares and the stock wheels looked whimpy even with 285 tires, the 305's are right at the edge of the flares barely stick out and no rubbing anywhere. I will try and get pictures next week.
