New to me,2000 4wd crew cab 80000 miles. Over 60 MPH on freeway,I hear a slapping sound like the thread is coming off. New goodrich tires and had them balance twice. Shocks are after market and will be replaced with biltsteins.
A tire store mechanic told me this is common with Fords with no wieght in back. Just looking for some experience input.
Thanks Tom

What are your tire air pressure are you running? If you inflate using the inflation tables recommended for your tire size and the actual axle weight, I do not get a lot of bouncing around. With my dually, my rear tires could be 35 psi but I do not go below 40. The front are 50 psi. This gives a very smooth ride with no bouncing.

Tire pressures are 60 psi. On a smooth road everything is good. In the right lanes where the semi-trucks have create a uneven surface, the right rear acts like it is out of balance.
