I have a 2002 f350 dually with a utility bed. All 6 wheels are 16" steel.

I'm trying to decide on getting the wheels sand blasted, epoxy primed , epoxy painted a gloss black.
OR sandlasted and annodized black.

When the tires are mounted and balanced, I don't know which method will last longer.

Any thoughts?

Just an idea, have you thought about powder coating, by a shop?

Obviously you would need to see if there is anyone near you, and see if they’ve done rims.
We have a fabrication shop out in the country near us that built a huge oven and started powder coating about ten years ago. They do huge and small items. I’ve taken them several projects and am always impressed. They sand blast regardless of prep to give the paint a bite hold to the metal.

Post Edit: Since I brought up powder coating here is a link to the one near my home for anyone within driving distance of Rockbridge, IL. (Rockbridge Manufacturing)

And under their sites menu bar check out “Projects” and “Auto” , then check out their turbo intercooler tubes!! Did I mention they are now doing ceramic high heat coatings also🙂🙃 I can see myself spending way too much money😉

Powdercoat is the better way to go. Will last longer and is more durable.

You won't be able to anodize steel. That's only for aluminum. I agree with the others. Go with powdercoat. You can even get them done in Chrome (or in Pink ;) )
