Well, I've screwed myself. I had to replace the waterpump and got one for a 97 by accident. Figured no problem, I'll just get a long thermostat and be done. I forgot about the heater hose fitting at the top until after it was installed. I've been all over town and nobody has anything close to what I need. I read in an earlier post a guy thought it was a 7/8 straight thread and my old one is 1/2 npt. Anybody have a clue on what to do?

See if you can find a place that has Parker fittings (or equivalent) like a hydraulic shop. They should have straight-thread o-ring fittings. The 7/8" you refer to, that sounds like the hex size and not the "fitting" size? Cheers!

Thanks, I called Ford, $66.00 for the fitting!!! I found a brass fitting that will adapt my old fitting to the new waterpump, just hope it doesn't leak.
