I'm installing a real water temperature gauge in my truck.
If I install the probe in one of the unused ports on my DieselSite coolant filter will this give an accurate temperature reading?

That's where I would put it, or I would insert a T where the filter plugs into the water pump, this may be a little more accurate here, depending on where you have the filter mounted and how far the coolant has to travel.
