I've got my gauge all set to go, just need to drill the hole and install thermocoupler. I've been referring to this article http://www.thedieselstop.com/faq/9497faq/tipstricks/gauges.php3, but the clamp on termocoupler I bought doesn't really want to work in that location. It wouldn't be sitting nicely on the pipe, but be clamped around bolts and bent quite a bit. According to tips from diesel injection service and this link http://www.dieselpage.com/art0599tc.htm I should drill the hole in the pipe between the manifold and the turbo. Only thing is it is buried right up against the firewall and is very difficult to access. Do I need to remove the pipe? What is the best option? I would hate to screw this up. Thanks, Nick.

your best bet is to do it exactly how thedieselstop.com instructions did it. trash the clamp and just tap out the hole u drill in the manifold and screw it in.

Drivers side rear of the manifold. Use a punch, pilot hole, then the 7/16 or what ever the correct size is.
