My doors are shut and the Door Ajar light is on. I've sprayed WD in it but it still doesn't go out.
Were is the switch for the doors? Do the back doors have it? I might try to spray harder in that area before taking them out.
What kind of job is it to remove and install the switch?

PBbaster worked better for me to fix the Door light. I sprayed it liberally inside both door mechanisms then worked it in by opening and shutting the door ten to 15 times. Try the PBbaster first before changing switches.

PB Blaster should be available at the local Car Quest parts store. I have not seen it at the NAPA here.

Spray into the latch assembly - open door - spray into the latch where it strikes the door. This has worked well for me anytime the door light has stayed on. I now spray them a couple times a year as a PM.

WalMart. Point the tube at the sleeve... where the plunger/button goes in/out. ALL the doors have switches, look on the Jams. Lube them all then exorsize'm. The switches Very Rarely go bad... they just need lubeing.

I just hit all four of mine with lube, avoid the non-conductive types.

I beleive the switch is actually inside the latch mechanism. It kinda rolls over when it's shut, and probably releases the switch in that position. Most likely, it's getting stuck "up".

Just a guess though, from fiddling with mine. But lubing the latch and working it a few times over works well.

The "Switches", are more corectly... "Buttons". they are located on the HINGE sides, of the door jams. There are rubber plugs near some of them, or yul need to remove the door panel to replace/adjust them. They are adjustable, in or out.... But in most cases they just tend to stick, or the contacts just get dirty.

"PB Blaster" is a di-electric penatrateing oil.... good for cleaning up the contacts, and lubricating the plunger action of the "Buttons".

Thanks Joe

I'll look there. The wiring harness from cab goes in there so I'll check that too while I'm there. I'll remove the door panel and try to hit them right on.

PB Blaster is good stuff. WD-40 will ruin and gum anything over a period of time. It leaves a bunch of residue that turns into a gummy material.
