I can't decide which tonneau cover to buy. It's either between the JACKRABBIT RETRACTABLE HARD TONNEAU COVERS

or

ROLL-N-LOCK

I currently have leer hardtop tonneau cover and can't really haul anything with my truck. I have few dirtbikes and have a slight issue getting the bikes to fit. So I've decided to look into a sliding cover so I have actual use of my bed again. Which of the two would you say is a better tonneau. Thanks for any info or input.

I was looking at roll up covers but I need to be able to have the freedom of having the bed 1/4 opened or what ever amount of opening i need. Instead of just having open or closed. Thats why I was looking at the retactable.

Look at Retrax, it will lock in any position

I haven't seen a Jackrabbit, but I would definitely take a Retrax over a Roll-n-lock. I had the Retrax in my '04 SD and I'm planning to get another one for my '06.

I got a custom bar welded up that I mounted in front of the box for the Retrax for my bikes to mount up against and it works great for hauling my dirtbikes or a couple of streetbikes (with the tailgate down).

I will look into the retrax. How sturdy is the retrax would you be able to stand on it if needed?

Have you seen these:

http://www.topupcamper.com/

(you don't have to get the canvas sides, you can just have a power lifting tonneau cover, that can be used at any height)

Cheers

Also, looking for a tonneau. What price range do the ones mentioned sell for?

I have had a jackrabbit for years and love it. Locks every 12". The only problem is the box that it rolls into takes up a few inches in the front of the bed, less than a tool box though. It might get in the way of your bikes.

If you want the best soft cover on the market...try Truxedo....www.truxedo.com. I have had mine for 2 years and love it. It is a one man operation to roll up, has self contained bows that you never have to stash away.

It is a fantastic cover for people that need their bed space, and don't want any space wasted by the roll up covers. It rolls up nice and tight against the cab, and gives you full use of the entire length of your bed.

I hate hard covers, and this is the best soft cover out there..and the BEST THING IS..YOU CAN PICK ONE UP FOR ABOUT $300. That includes a lifetime warranty also.
