Started my 05 F-250 PSD with no problems this morning. I started out as usaual and then I hard accelerated and then right after that started to hear a whistle sound and the truck sound louder and quite a bit sluggish. I then stopped and started out again but the same problem. I then pulled over and shut down the engine in the hopes the computer would reset, however, I was wrong. The whistle sound comes from my turbo...I think, however, I am not sure about the sluggish and extra noise. I have just put $4500 into replacing various items for a no start for both cold and hot conditions and now with this I am wondering if I should trade it in on newer truck.

Instead of trtading it in, look for a hose popped off. From the turbo to the Charge air cooler and bac to the intake manifold, one of those hoses probably pooped off. If that's it, don't just put it back on, but determine why it came off. was the clamp installed improperly? Signs of this are marks from the clamp crossed up from other marks of the clamp. Maybe the metal tube and hose are oily. Some oil is typical, but the two surfaces need to be clean and dry when installed. Some folks here have suggested putting something like dish soap (I think it was dish soap) on one end of the hose connection to help hold the hose and tube together. Also, you may have just blown a hose in which case you will need to inspect those hoses carefully, even reaching around and checking the bottom side of the hose.

Thank you very much TDIDog. I opened the hood, looked around found the exhaust off the turbo was not connected. It would appear it is only held in place by gravity as I only pushed it back into place and it slipped quite easily into place. I hope it is held in place by its' own weight!!

Drat! I guessed the wrong side of the turbo, but at least I got you looking in the general area.
