Since WallyWorld does not carry the Ford Oil Filters now, where can you get them or order them without paying Ford $20 for a $10 filter? This probably has been answered before but I just used my last one and now need to find another source.
Thanks

Well WalMart does not carry them anymore at the Superstore here in Parker. If they are still available in your store you are lucky. Buy them all. I was told that Ford took back the Motorcraft line..at least that was the story. Whatever it is...The Parker Wal Mart does not carry Motorcraft filters anymore.

Wal Mart has again started carring the MC filters. I stopped by one of the Super Walley Worlds the other day and they had them.

Not around here anymore. Manager said they weren't going to carry any Motorcraft products anymore. Maybe they have changed their minds. If not I'd sure buy 6 or so while they have them.

I had heard that they were going to carry them again and I went to a Walley World that was out a while back and they have them back in stock. Have you looked in the past week at your local Walley World?

Nope. The last time I checked was about 3 weeks ago when I bought my oil for a change. I'll have to check it out. I hope they do because they always had the one to fit the truck.

Don't get me wrong, but I sometimes worry about filter media being too restrictive at heavier weight oil, mine came with a moto, moto is what it gets...and I'm not all that worried about a few bucks here or there.

A few sponsors have them for about the same price wallyworld has em for. I try to avoid wallyworld at all costs... atleast the ones arround here. I hate waiting 20 mins in line to buy an oil filter, Behind some old woman who is argueing over their check policy, or some expired coupon. If I can save some hassle it's worth a few bucks.

well the real reasion is ford wanted wally to raise the prices on the mc filter's and wally said NO so ford pulled the line from them, kind of like the crap they pulled with DIS on fuel filter's, that's why DIS had to raise the price's on fuel filter's also, buy the way they also dropped mobil delvac 1300 15/40 oil while they still cary all the gas engine oil,try a change of delvac and see how quiet your 7.3 run's, you have to hear it to believe it, mine's quieter than my son's 6.0

mobil-1 filter is probably better at smaller micron filtering, but probably worse at volumetric flowrate. Many general engine UOA's have pointed out that volumetric flowrate is USUALLY better than smaller micron filtering when just focused on the full flow filter. With the large size of the PSD filter having a greater surface area of media compared to your average gasser motor, the smaller Micron filtering of the Mobil-1 should be able to supply a good volumetric flowrate. So in the end, the Mobil-1 filter should work just fine That being said, again i will recommend for people to go with a fleetguard LF3974 which has the Stratpore media. It has a higher volumetric flowrate than the Motorcraft, and also filters smaller particles, yet doesn't plug up for quite a long time.

Just to add a little fuel to the "Wally Carries Motorcraft Again" story, I went to my local Wally store yesterday and they had re-stocked the Motorcraft stuff back on the shelf. Previously, they had put about 6 of my oil filters in the "clearance" area. The price was down to about $9.50 ( from $12.50 ) but, being greedy, I was waiting for the $5 - $6 price that I kept reading about. Oh well, maybe next time.
